How to Turn on Amazon Map Tracking
If you’re a fan of Amazon’s delivery services, there’s a new feature you might want to check out. It’s called Amazon Map Tracking, and it offers real-time monitoring on a map for your delivery.
This is a pretty neat option that’s rolling out to users now (via Android Police and CNET). It shows you how many stops your driver has to make before getting to your door, similar to how Uber tracks ride locations.
“Amazon Map Tracking” is a feature that allows you to track the real-time location of your Amazon package on a map. This feature provides users with more visibility and transparency into the delivery process. To enable Amazon Map Tracking, follow these steps.
Step 1: Ensure You Have the Latest Amazon App
Before you can use Amazon Map Tracking, make sure you have the latest version of the Amazon app installed on your mobile device. You can download or update the app from the App Store (for iOS devices) or Google Play Store (for Android devices).
Step 2: Sign In to Your Amazon Account
Open the Amazon app and sign in to your Amazon account. If you don’t have an account, you’ll need to create one.
Step 3: Place an Order
To use Amazon Map Tracking, you need to have a recent order with a package that is out for delivery. If you haven’t placed an order yet, browse the items you want to purchase, add them to your cart, and complete the checkout process.
Step 4: Track Your Order
Once your order is placed and out for delivery, you can track it using Amazon Map Tracking. Here’s how:
- Open the Amazon app and tap on the “Menu” icon in the top-left corner.
- Select “Your Orders” from the menu. This will display a list of your recent orders.
- Find the order you want to track and tap on it to view the order details.
- Look for the “Track Package” option. If the order is out for delivery, this option should be available.
- Tap “Track Package,” and you’ll be redirected to the Amazon Map Tracking page.
Step 5: Monitor Real-Time Location
On the Amazon Map Tracking page, you’ll see a map displaying the real-time location of the delivery vehicle. You can see the progress of the delivery in real-time, and the map will be updated regularly as the driver makes stops on the way to your location.
Step 6: Receive Notifications
Amazon may send you notifications about the delivery status. You might receive alerts when the package is on its way, when it’s about to be delivered, and when it has been successfully delivered.
Step 7: Additional Tips
- Accuracy: Keep in mind that the accuracy of Amazon Map Tracking can vary based on the delivery carrier and the region. In some cases, you may see the specific location of the delivery vehicle, while in other instances, you may only see an estimated delivery window.
- Real-Time Updates: The map provides real-time updates, so you can check it periodically to see the latest location of your package.
- Contact Customer Support: If you encounter any issues or have questions about the delivery, you can contact Amazon customer support for assistance.
By following these steps, you can easily enable and use Amazon Map Tracking to stay informed about the real-time location of your packages and ensure a smoother delivery experience
1. Log in to your account
Amazon has introduced a new feature that will let you know when your package is close to your house. The company started rolling out the feature late last year for select users, and it is now available to everyone in the US. The map will also tell you how long it will take for your delivery to arrive, and how far away the driver is from your home.
The feature is available through the company’s website and mobile app. You can enable it by clicking on the “Enable Amazon Map Tracking” button. Once you have done that, you will receive a one-time password. You can then use the code to activate the feature on your account.
In addition to the new feature, the company is introducing a new tool that will allow you to create a virtual floor plan of your home and assign Amazon devices to rooms. This will help you keep track of all your devices, and it may be useful if you have multiple Amazon accounts or don’t want to risk having someone steal your stuff off your porch.
2. Go to the “My Account” tab
Amazon recently unveiled a new way to monitor your Amazon delivery. The company’s new Map Tracking feature lets you see your delivery driver on a live map, so you know when your package is close. The service is rolling out to users in the US, and it could prove useful for people who need to keep an eye on their deliveries.
To use the service, simply log in to your account and click on “Your Orders” (on Android) or “Orders” (on iOS). You should be able to see an ETA for your delivery. If you don’t, you can enable the feature by clicking on the three-line icon in the top-left corner of the page.
The feature is only available for orders that will be delivered by a dedicated Amazon vehicle. If you’re ordering from a third-party carrier such as UPS, FedEx, or the United States Postal Service, you won’t be able to use the service.
While Amazon strives to provide accurate delivery estimates, delays can sometimes occur due to unforeseen circumstances. If your package hasn’t arrived by the estimated delivery date, be patient and give it another day or two before contacting customer support. The company will continue to notify you with updates about the status of your delivery. Hopefully, this will help reduce the number of calls to customer support about undelivered orders.
3. Go to the “My Packages” tab
Amazon has evolved into a well-oiled package delivery machine, routinely shipping over 7 billion items per year. Those packages can be tracked in real time on the company’s website or mobile app, but one new tool aims to go even further: it shows you where your package is on a map in real-time.
The feature is rolling out to customers now, reports CNET. You can access it by clicking the “Track Package” button on the web or in the mobile app. If you’re lucky enough to have a shipment arriving via Amazon Logistics, the real-time tracker will show you where the driver is on the route and how many stops they’ll have to make before your doorstep.
This isn’t available for every order, though: the real-time tracking option only works for orders shipped by Amazon Logistics or UPS. As noted by Business Insider, the real-time tracker becomes available once your driver has fewer than 10 stops left on their route.
It’s the latest tool to come out of Amazon this week, with the company also unveiling a new feature called Map View that lets you keep tabs on all your smart home gadgets. It creates a virtual floor plan of your house, then visualizes all your devices on it, so you can see where they are and what rooms they’re in.
4. Click on “Enable Amazon Map Tracking”
Amazon recently rolled out a slew of new delivery tools designed to make it easier for customers to receive their orders. One of those features, Amazon Map Tracking, shows the location of your package in real time on a map, making it easy to see when your driver is getting close to your home. If you’re looking to track your delivery via UPS, FedEx, or USPS, you’ll need to use their tracking services instead.
It’s a great tool for anyone who obsesses over the exact moment their Amazon delivery is slated to arrive. It also helps you avoid wasting time waiting outside, so you can pop out for an errand without worrying about missing your order.
While the Amazon Map Tracking feature isn’t available for every delivery, it’s a great way to stay updated about your delivery. If your delivery isn’t arriving by the estimated date, try to be patient and give it another day or two before contacting customer service.
